Vulgar and disappointing
Having followed David Sedaris him on NPR and the BBC for years, we expected him to be witty and appropriate for a family outing. We were blindsided by the performance which was vulgar and disappointing. David Sedaris has clearly gotten lazy, as it takes a lot more energy and work to be clever and clean. It is a great shame that he appears to be more interested in signing books and shocking and insulting people than putting in the effort that is required to maintain the standard of his early work. None of us discussed the performance during the car ride home. The sooner I forget the evening the better.
