Diana Krall never showed

I have listened to most of Diana Krall's library of songs and was very much looking forward to this concert. But instead of Diana Krall the singer, we got the Diana Krall Quartet. Long instrumentals, 5+ minutes of featured bass playing, 5+ minutes of featured guitar playing, 3 minutes of featured drum playing, and 5+ minutes of featured piano playing on every song. The vocals were an after-thought, sometimes clear, sometimes so faint you could not hear; sometimes good diction and word phrasing, but more times bad diction and blaring. The Quartet was average with the exception of the guitar player but even he had so many featured solos he repeated familiar scale runs. Please send back Diana Krall the singer, who concentrates on beautiful, seductive renditions of popular favorites... with the quartet as an accent to the main event.
