Evangline - The Musical: A Glimpse into a Historic Love Story
Last night, the Star Acadmie stage was transformed into Acadie as performers from the upcoming musical Evangline presented a preview of their original production, set to debut in February 2026. The talented cast, including Maude Cyr-Deschnes and Olivier Dion, showcased two musical excerpts, including the television premiere of "Des amants lgendaires," and a lively new Cajun song titled "Vivre malgr tout." This grand spectacle narrates the poignant love story of Evangline and Gabriel, who were tragically separated during the Great Upheaval of 1755. The musical, directed by Jean-Jacques Pillet, features a cinematic and contemporary aesthetic, combining epic scenes and elaborate sets to celebrate Acadian identity and love's enduring power. The soundtrack album will be released later this year, promising to captivate audiences with its original compositions. This ambitious production is poised to leave a lasting impact in Montreal, Quebec, and Moncton starting in February 2026.
